University of Utah, Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy
Lead developer of the PER PhD program. ARC Network Virtual Visiting Scholar, Fulbright Scholar, AAPT Committee Member: Diversity in Physics, and APS Member at Large: Forum on Diversity and Inclusion. Written over $5M in grants, published 14 pieces, and has given dozens of talks talks. Research focused on equity and inclusion in graduate education utilizing survey and interview methodology. Supported rebuild of the undergraduate curriculum and designed a post-bac to PhD program.
The Education Advisory Board, Consultant
Co-managed $2.5M portfolio of university research executives, including relationship building and research. Designed and managed national studies on higher education including supervision of research employee. Traveled nationwide to present research and create sustainable relationships with clients. Designed presentations and written deliverables including blogs, books, executive summaries and marketing materials.

Provided research support and advice on research grants and science policy.
AAAS Science Policy Fellow (APS/AIP Sponsored)
Worked with executive branch committees and on national grant-giving programs. Wrote national policy on equity in STEM education with Office of Civil Rights to be distributed to K-12 classrooms. Built connections between DoEd and other federal agencies.
Fulbright
Conducted large research survey of Finnish physics departments to study student motivations to major in physics. Taught multiple graduate level courses and conducted U.S. based survey for the APS on LGBT+ physicists
Dr. Barthelemy
Ramón Barthelemy is an associate professor of physics and astronomy at the University of Utah. Previous to his faculty position Ramón was a Fulbright Scholar in Finland, a Science Policy Fellow in the U.S. Department of Education and a private sector consultant. His work focuses on the lives, educational experiences, and career paths of marginalized students in physics and STEM. This has included work on LGBT+ people, graduate Students of Color, and women in physics. He was the 2020 recipient of the Fulbright Finland Alumni Award, the 2021 recipient of the AAPT Doc Brown Futures award, the 2022 WEPAN Research recipient, and became a fellow of the American Physical Society in 2022.
